In this week’s major update to our on-court app for coaches, we’ve completely revamped our approach to attendance tracking.

The goal? To increase flexibility for easier attendance tracking at academies of all sizes.

Today, we’re excited to reveal retro attendance as one part of this update designed to make tennis coaches’ jobs and lives just a little bit easier.

Introducing Retro Attendance in Tennis Locker

With Tennis Locker, attendance tracking is easy and only takes a few seconds to complete courtside, but we understand that you may miss a player here or there.

Maybe Jared arrived late and you didn’t have time to go back and update his attendance during practice. Maybe you were in a hurry after being cornered by a parent before practice and just missed Sofia’s name when taking attendance in a rush.

Whatever the reason may be for an attendance mis-tap, we know that the ability to go back and update records would make your life and job a little bit easier—well, now you can!

With this update, you can go back anytime to update a player’s past attendance records.

While you’ll still need to log attendance on the courts in order to use our other features during practice, retro attendance offers flexibility to update records on and off the courts.

How to Use Retro Attendance in Tennis Locker

Retro attendance is easy to use on both the iPad and iPhone/Android apps for coaches.

First, simply tap over to a player’s profile, then tap on Attendance to view his or her attendance records at a glance.

Our color-coded system is simple:

  • A green check mark means the player was marked present during practice.
  • A blue check mark means a player was marked present retroactively.
  • A red dot means the player was marked present with an exception for arriving late or leaving early.

Tap on any date to view the sessions attended that day, as well as the details of any exceptions.

INSERT SCREENSHOTS HERE TO SHOW THE ATTENDANCE CALENDAR/ABILITY TO TAP ON THE DATE AND SEE DETAILS.

To mark a player present retroactively, tap and hold on the date of the session. Select the session attended from the session dropdown, then, if applicable, tap to indicate if the player was late or left early.

INSERT SCREENSHOTS HERE. SHOW WHAT POPS UP WHEN YOU TAP AND HOLD A PAST DATE.

The Benefits of Retro Attendance in Tennis Locker

With retro attendance, it’s easier than ever to keep updated records, which you can use for…

  • Increased accountability for players who regularly skip practice, arrive late, or leave early
  • Data-driven player development to reduce chances of burnout or injury
  • Reference when parents have questions about billing

Retro attendance is just one of several ways we’re updating our app to support modernized operations and data-driven player development.
